Cataflam is used to treat a number of painful conditions including:
• joint, muscle or tendon pain
• attacks of gout
• pain and swelling caused after surgery
• sprains, strains and other injuries
• gynaecology problems such as period pain
• painful ear, nose or throat infections • migraine.
For treatment of pain or primary dysmenorrhea the recommended dosage is 50 mg three times a day. With experience, physicians may find that in some patients an initial dose of 100 mg of CATAFLAM, followed by 50 mg doses, will provide better relief.
The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. This drug should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery (CABG).
